Product quality is the first and foremost priority of URC Vietnam. Therefore, at URC Vietnam, advanced manufacturing technologies and R&D are constantly invested. Besides the mandatory standards on product quality of the Vietnam Ministry of Health, URC Vietnam also aims to achieve the highest international product health and safety standards.

After the company’s first plant was built, the Research & Development Center (R&D) was founded in 2006 and took charge of new products’ study for all URC industries in Vietnam, including biscuit, snack and beverage. At the beginning, R&D Center had only 3 employees. Currently, we have 18 senior and professional technicians in candy manufacturing, biscuit manufacturing and beverage manufacturing. R&D Center function is concerned in developing and improving products, new production technologies, packaging research and food safety laws.
R&D Center conducts a market research survey to understand consumers’ demand and update modern technologies aiming at creating quality products and meeting the consumers’ expectation. During the research and development process, all products must meet regulatory testing requirements from the first to the last stage. R&D Center works with the mission of ensuring all finished products shall always meet the leading domestic and international quality standards. As standard contributors, R&D’s staffs are playing an indispensable role in the operational programs of quality management systems ISO 9001; FSSC 220000. In addition, the employees are trained to update new technology with some on-the-job training and intensive training in many developing countries such as Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia and Philippines.
In recent years, R&D Center has successfully developed products which become more popular such as Funbite (Snack), CreamO Strawberry (Sandwich Cookies), Dynamite Strawberry (Candy), Dynamite Tamarind (Candy), Lush (Soft chewy candies with creamy milk flavor), Rong Do (Energy Drink), Rong Do Strawberry, Rong Do Fruits, C2 Black Tea, C2 Black Tea with Peach flavour and C2 Milk Tea. R&D Center is committed to constantly investing, researching and providing the best products to domestic and international consumers.
The ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 map out an integrated framework that a company or organization can follow to set up an effective integrated Management System for Environmental Hygiene and Occupational Safety. Applying ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018 provides assurance to the management of corporates, employees, visitors, contractors and suppliers as well as external stakeholders for the environmental impact and hazard are being measured, controlled and improved. We follow the same consistent Integrated Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) management systems in all our plants in Vietnam. Each plant has a dedicated Plant EHS Officer, who shall generally report to the Plant Manager and functionally to the EHS Manager, who is responsible to ensure full regulatory compliance and assist the Plant Manager in implementing improvement initiatives.
Our Quality and Food Safety Management System is a framework that we use globally to ensure food safety and regulatory compliance. We are certified and awarded ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System and FSSC 22000:2005 Food Safety Management Systems, which are both audited externally by independent certifying body to prove our conformity to ISO Standard.
We apply internationally recognized Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to proactively reinforce food quality & safety.
These practices follow the standards set by law and ISO/TS 22002-1 (Pre-requisite Program)
We apply internationally recognized Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) program to manage food safety risk. This program identifies, evaluates, and control hazards that are significant for food safety. Our HACCP programs are verified by external certifying body against Codex Alimentarius and ISO/TS 22002-1 standards.
